We are a group of like-minded individuals working for the rights of ALL species in the Reading area and beyond. We promote a cruelty-free lifestyle, emphasizing veganism and what YOU, as an individual, can do to help animals of all types.

We are open to all who are interested in ending animal suffering.

What is veganism?

Veganism is not a diet. It is a life philosophy that involves doing the least harm.

Vegans avoid animal use of all types. This includes not only consuming animals themselves, as in vegetarianism, but also their products, including dairy, eggs, and honey. In addition, vegans do not wear leather, fur, or wool. They do not breed animals, attend circuses, visit zoos, or otherwise use animals for entertainment or profit, and avoid products tested on animals.

Why go vegan?

For the Animals. For People. For the Planet.

Not only does veganism protect animals from deplorable suffering, it also protects the planet and helps alleviate world hunger. It is not well known, but animal agriculture is the leading cause of both global warming and deforestation, including that of rainforests. Over a third of the methane polluting our air comes directly from animal farming, and hundreds of billions of tons of other pollutants are produced indirectly.

What’s more, 70% of the world’s fresh water and agricultural land is used to raise the animals humans eat. These resources could be used for direct human consumption and supporting the other living beings on this planet.
